Athletes For CARE Announces First-Ever Charity Golf Tournament to raise funds to #SaveYouthSports

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BOLINGBROOK, Ill, Sept 18th - Athletes For CARE (A4C), the preeminent athlete support association in North America, is proud to announce their inaugural charity golf tournament in support of Lost Boyz, Inc., a Chicago-based community youth sports organization.

A4C has organized a charity event that provides immediate support to the Lost Boyz winter sports program. A4C’s first-ever Golf Tournament will be held on September 22nd at the Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The event will bring together former NFL players, former Notre Dame Football players, participants and sponsors for a fun, safe, meaningful charity experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected youth, their families, and their communities and dramatically impacted youth sports programs.

Lost Boyz, Inc. is a sports-based youth organization in Chicago’s South Shore community that offers children ages 4-17 the opportunity to learn skills, physical conditioning and the history of sport in an empowering environment. Organized sports is the foundation for supporting youth, but Lost Boyz goes beyond recreation to cultivate resilience and trauma healing for youth and their families. The focus is on cultural enrichment, mentorship, and education.

“Athletes for CARE understands the important role youth sports play in the lives of kids. A4C was founded by former professional athletes and grounded in principles of community and education,” says Anna Valent, Executive Director, Athletes for CARE. “Youth sport programs provide more than just athletics; they offer kids the opportunity to learn and engage in their communities. We are proud to dedicate the first event in our new A4C Tour to Lost Boyz Inc., who work so hard to engage and empower the kids they reach through their organization.”

Those seeking to support A4C and Lost Boyz, Inc. have an exciting opportunity to bid on dozens of items online in A4C’s virtual silent auction. The auction will close at 8:00 pm CST on September 22, 2020. It is open to everyone. Donations can be made through A4C at www.SaveYouthSports2020.com.
